Pac-Man
Description
Pac-Man is an iconic maze-chase arcade game originally developed by Namco in 1980. By 1983, its immense popularity prompted ports to various home computer systems, enabling gamers to enjoy the experience without heading to an arcade. In these computer versions, players once again guide the iconic yellow Pac-Man through a series of colorful mazes, collecting dots and fruit while avoiding the ever-persistent ghost quartet—Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde.
Despite the technical limitations of early home computers, Pac-Man’s core gameplay and charming visuals remained largely intact, preserving the addictive quality that made it a global phenomenon. Collecting power pellets to temporarily turn the tables on the ghosts added a strategic twist to the fast-paced action. The 1983 releases on platforms like the Commodore 64 helped cement Pac-Man’s status as a timeless classic, winning over new audiences and giving fans a way to enjoy one of gaming’s most recognizable icons in the comfort of their own homes.
