Grand Theft Auto 2 is an open-world action-adventure game developed by DMA Design (now Rockstar North) and published by Rockstar Games in 1999. As the sequel to the original GTA, the game retains its top-down perspective but introduces improved graphics, more interactive environments, and a reputation system that influences gameplay.

Set in a futuristic, crime-ridden city called Anywhere City, players take on the role of Claude Speed, a criminal looking to climb the ranks of the underworld. The game features multiple rival gangs, including the Yakuza, Zaibatsu Corporation, and Rednecks, each offering missions that impact how other factions perceive the player. The dynamic gang system adds strategic depth, as working for one group may make others hostile.
